Moncofar

Moncofar

Moncófar is a municipality of the Castellón province, located on the La Plana plain. In the absence of geographical features, such as mountains, valleys or capes, it is worth pointing out a river of little importance to the province, the river Belcaire, a river that was once full of water and full of life, but now only carries water when it rains. In Moncófar’s landscape, it is also worth mentioning: La Plana de Castellón, the Grao, Masbó and Torre beaches, and the “estanys”, wetlands that form anecosystem for flora and fauna (with species unique to the area). Thanks to this protection, these species have been able to survive urban development. Moncófar has a Mediterranean climate.

Moncófar can be reached from Castellón de la Plana by taking the N-340 towards the AP-7 motorway and then taking exit 49. It can also be reached by rail via the RENFE Cercanías Valencia-Castellón line.
