Elche

Elche

The Vinalopó plains are home to an exceptional town. There is a select group of cities in the world that have more than one recognised World Heritage Site. Elche is one of them.

However, there is still more to Elche than El Palmeral (‘The Palm Grove’) and the performance of Misteri d’Elx (‘The Mystery Play of Elche’), even in all their glory, beauty and originality.

Along with its treasures, the city extols its more than 2,000 years of life, while combining them with modernity and dynamism. What’s more, is its nature. The nature is beautifully preserved by the people of Elche, particularly on the coast, and is considered the icing on the cake of this lovely town.
